With the sunny Austin weather, a patio is the ideal place to enjoy outdoor dining, lounging, or entertaining friends and family. At LOA Construction, we work closely with homeowners to create the ideal outdoor environment, in any style.

Planning your new patio

Whether you are planning to install a patio for the first time, or you want to upgrade an existing outdoor area, our team at LOA works to ensure the new patio suits the style of your home. The first step is making decisions about the size and shape of the patio. You may want an extensive outdoor space, with walkways, pool deck, or are looking for a more intimate patio. The type of materials could include concrete, paving stones, natural stone, or brick. You may be considering an outdoor fire pit to further enhance the outdoor space. Whatever your wishes, our team at LOA Construction will ensure your project is a priority.

Preparing the patio site

Our patio installation team starts by preparing the site for the new patio installation or removing any barrier. Grass and bushes are removed to make space for the new patio, or old or damaged patio elements removed. A base for the new patio will be created, typically a layer of gravel, topped by a layer of sand, onto which the patio stones or bricks are laid. Our patio building team is committed to ensuring the patio area is installed professionally, with every element you envision in place, creating a stunning outdoor living space.

Filling the joints

After the stones, bricks, or pavers are in place, we will meticulously fill the joints with sand, gravel, or products to keep paving elements securely in place.

Finishing touches

Once the patio is laid, we may perform another leveling action so the stones or pavers have the flattest surface possible. We may install a fire pit, wall, pathway, or other element you request. At LOA Construction, we offer electrical contracting and can install custom outdoor lighting features to further enhance your property.

What materials will work best for your patio?

Every home has a unique style, yard size, and shape. A patio can be extensive, surrounding the home, extending to the pool deck, with walkways, walls, or other features. Choosing the right materials is one of the most important aspects of planning the perfect patio for your home. The surface could be created with various types of materials.

  • Custom paving stones
  • Concrete
  • Stamped concrete
  • Brick
  • Unglazed tile
  • Cut stone (granite, marble, slate, flagstone, limestone, bluestone, brownstone, phyllite and others)
  • Loose materials (crushed stone, mulch, decomposed granite, sand)
  • Mixed materials
